Fund savings plan: turning dreams into goals

People who save on a regular basis are investing systematically and long-term in the realisation of their life dreams. With the ZugerKB fund savings plan you can do this flexibly and in an optimised way. You should ideally invest on an ongoing basis and in keeping with your means, participating directly in the markets of your choice. This will bring you ever closer to your savings goals in carefully planned steps.

    Advantages of fund-based saving

    • Size and frequency of contributions can be freely selected
    • With regular contributions you benefit from the "average price" effect
    • Payouts are possible at any time
    • Account management is free of charge
    • Even with small savings contributions, you gain access to a diversified and professionally managed securities solution
    • Capital gains from the fund savings plan are generally tax-free
    • With a fund savings plan, you get 50% discount off your account set at Zuger Kantonalbank

    Average price effect in brief

The average price effect is when investors regularly invest identical amounts in securities. It is also known as the “cost average” effect. And that’s precisely what happens with the fund savings plan: investors invest on a regular basis, usual-ly monthly, and purchase fund units. When prices are low they receive more units for the sum invested, and in months when prices are high they receive fewer units. Regular investments serve to offset price fluctuations and reduce risks: there is no one bad time to invest, and investors do not run the risk of paying too high an entry price.

A little goes a long way

     Example

Maren and Jan are in their mid-20s and are saving for a future together. They want to use their savings for a big trip – or simply to have a bit of cash put aside: they are dreaming big. As a first step they are putting CHF 1,000 from their savings account into their newly opened fund savings plan. They will then invest CHF 250 a month for 18 years and will benefit from the average price effect. Compared with a savings account, Maren and Jan can thus participate in the stock market trend and will have an opportunity to achieve higher savings.

With the assets they have saved – just under CHF 70,000 – they can afford to dream big. Of course they can also open one fund savings plan each and save that way.
