Types of fraud

Phishing: Fake e-mails, text messages or websites

Fake e-mails, text messages or websites that give the impression they have come from the Bank or from a legitimate sender. The aim is to steal your access credentials or payment information.

Social engineering and spoofing: Fake identities

Fraudsters masquerade as bank employees, partner companies or authorities by phone, e-mail or via social media. Phone numbers or sender’s addresses are often faked (spoofing).

Investment fraud / “easy money”

Professional-looking but fraudulent investment offers – often referencing cryptocurrencies, shares or new platforms – promise unrealistically high earnings.

TWINT scams

TWINT is increasingly being misused for various types of fraud. The scams often look very convincing.
